Catching in Pokemon Reloaded fan game follows the classic formula with a real-time twist: you still weaken the target first, but you do it while dodging its attacks.
Weaken before you throw
Get the wild creature to low health before throwing anything. Red-zone health plus a status condition like sleep or paralysis gives the best odds. In real-time combat this means fighting carefully: use light attacks to chip without knocking it out, since an accidental KO ends the encounter.
Status effects matter most
Sleep and paralysis are the premium catching tools. A sleeping target cannot dodge your throws or hurt your catcher, and paralysis slows its movement so you can position safely. Bring a creature that can inflict one reliably; it pays for itself within the first route.
Which ball, when
Standard balls handle early routes fine. Save your better balls for rare encounters, evolved forms, and anything that took effort to find. If a target keeps breaking out, weaken it further rather than burning your stock; patience is cheaper than balls. The shiny hunting guide builds on these basics, and the beginner guide covers where to find the best early catches.
Real-time throwing tips
Throws happen live, so position matters. Get close enough that the throw cannot miss, and throw while the target is recovering from its own attack. If it is charging at you, dodge first and throw second. Your full collection is tracked in the Pokedex guide.
