Move choice in Pokemon Reloaded download works differently than in turn-based games: speed, area, and recovery matter as much as power.
Real-time move rules
Fast, spammable moves beat slow nukes in most fights because you stay mobile. A 90-power move you land twice beats a 120-power move you whiff once. Prioritize quick STAB attacks, one coverage move for your worst matchup, and a status or setup move for bosses.
Sets by role
Sweepers want two STAB options plus coverage. Tanks want one reliable attack, a status move, and recovery. Utility leads open with sleep or paralysis, then pivot out. Check the battle guide for the footwork that makes these sets work and the team guide for who runs what.
Moves to avoid
Skip hyper-slow charge moves here unless a boss demands burst; whiffing them gets you punished. Skip redundant coverage that hits the same types as your STAB. And always keep one move that cannot miss for the final hit on a catch target, per the catching guide.
Test every new moveset against wild creatures before trusting it in a gym. A combo that looks strong on paper can feel clumsy in real-time combat, where positioning matters as much as raw power. Spend five minutes on a nearby route trying the full rotation; if a move keeps whiffing or leaves you open, swap it before the badge fight, not during.
